Florin Asavei is a self-taught Full-Stack .NET developer and overall web enthusiast with a background in Front-End development using JavaScript. He is an active member of the local tech communities, participating in educational activities and local tech meetups. Workshop: Let’s build a RESTful Web API in ASP.Net Core

The goal of the workshop? 

The goal of this workshop is to understand and apply the REST principles and constrains while building a simple CRUD WebApi using ASP.Net Core.

What will we do in this workshop?

We will build the application from the ground up so that you can understand the core fundamentals and how they all link together. We will be using the MVC pattern and we will persist the data in a local Database. We will not be building any front-end layer and the endpoints will be consumed using Postman.

You are in the target of the audience if you:
  • Are familiar with web development in general (you’ve written some code that runs on the web)
  • Are comfortable with the syntax of C# / JAVA or other C-like programming language

This is an intermediate workshop, it’s best suited for junior programmers, students in their final year or other programmers that are curious about the .Net Core world.

What will you learn at the end?

At the end of this workshop you will get a grasp on the .Net Core ecosystem and feel more comfortable writing C# application. You will also be more familiar with the REST principles and feel more prepared to write your own Web API.
